It seems
Liverpool is back to doing what it does best and is producing a shit load of
new and wonderful bands and artists such as those we have previously and
recently reviewed like Element, Keyside and Cheap Thrills.
And now we have another band to covet and appreciate in “The Kowloons”.
They’ve just
released a new song, “Can we go Faster”, on July 19th and
it’s a blistering pop anthem which is unashamedly proud if its indie / brit pop
style roots. You can detect influences from The La’s, Oasis, The Real People
and Shack amongst others, but with a fresh, brash swagger and modern sound
rather than being overly retrospect. Its fantastic!
At the heart
of the band are brothers Stephen and Anthony Ng.
fronting the band and writing songs that belie their years (also check out
“ignite” and “Fishing net” to get a feeling of what they’re about.
It kind of feels like a mini scene is developing in Liverpool and we are
surprised no one has thought of putting a showcase gig on featuring these brilliant
new local bands (are you listening @David Pichilingi)
You can hear the
song on all the usual platforms such as Spotify, Apple, YouTube and amazon. We
strongly urge you to give it a listen and to support them on their journey.
Listen to ‘Can We
Go Faster?’
In the meantime, go see them live;
